come alive on the driver's side
I had a scary experience Saturday night when I was driving back to Kent. I should preface this by saying that since I moved up here a couple of months ago, I've seen more drunk drivers on the road at night than I ever did in Columbus or Dayton. Just add that to list of reasons why I'm not a fan of northeast Ohio (along with the lack of Timmy Ho's!). Anyway, I was driving back on some two lane country road that I can never remember the numbers of, and as I was driving down a hill, a drunken idiot going the opposite direction veered into my lane. Have you ever gone head to head with another car? It's terrifying! I felt like I was moving in slow motion. I could see him coming at me, and all I could think of was, "Get out of his way!" So I did what any sane person would do: I got out of the way. I wound up driving on the opposite side of the road myself, and luckily the car that was behind Mr. (or Ms.) Drunk Driver saw what I was doing and slowed down so they wouldn't hit me. I thought about honking or flashing my brights, but considering how unpredictable this guy's behavior was already, I didn't want to take the chance that he'd jerk the wheel and wind up hitting me. I drew a picture in Paint to demonstrate what happened.
I have skills, I know.
I realize I got super lucky in this situation. If I hadn't reacted the way I had, who knows what could have happened. I might not even be writing this right now! I just don't want to take the chance of putting myself in that situation again, especially since this isn't the first time I've encountered a drunk driver on the roads up here. If I'm smart enough to know when I'm not sober and I can't drive home, I stay where I am. After Jackie's dad died, I take drunk driving VERY seriously. It's easy enough to die in a car accident when alcohol isn't involved; why risk it when things are even more dangerous when alcohol is involved? I don't know what it is about this area that causes so many people to drink and drive. Maybe the bartenders don't cut people off early enough. Maybe there aren't enough cab companies around to shuttle home the drunk people. Maybe people don't have the type of friends who won't let their friends drive home when they've been drinking. I don't really care what the reasons are. None of them are good enough, and after this heart-pounding experience, I'm probably going to end up spending the night at Hannah and Alex's (or wherever I am) more often, even if I'm sober. I value my own life too much to put it in the hands of some drunk idiot who can't tell what side of the road he should be driving on.

NEW at 2 AM: Drunk Girl Climbs Stairs!
Hi!
I'm going to be honest. Tonight I've had a Mike's Hard, several rum and cokes, a shot of rum, and some portions of a strawberry margarita... some of which had Natty Light splashed in tiit, courtsey of Lizie Mc!
I love water. It tastes sooo good. Not like nonfat cheese, which tastes like cat tongue. Not that I've had cat tongue, because I havent. I hate it when people accuse chinese restaurants of serving cat and not chicken because I love cats and I love chinese food and I even love chickens, those little clucker fuckers. My nana refused to eat chicken because she grew up during the GREAT DEPRESSION. Very different from the great recession because people still eat other meats now.
I need to charge my phone, but there's a big pile of black cords next to my bed and I dont know which is my phone cord. Apple is nice and they made the ipod cord white. Like a virgin... HEY!
My friends are the shit. We have so much fun together because we're besties for lyfe and we have sassy gay friends and who needs men? Not me said the pea! Two peas in a pod!
I need more water and less buffalo chicken dip. I think I like the fatty version better.
Sitting down feels awesome. I stood a lot tonight, which is good because if I sit and drink, I get much drunker. But now my legs hurt.
Bahaha, the song that's playing is called Hurricane Drunk. SO FITTING. I wish there was a tornado. I swore that I heard the sirens at Graeter's before.
I wonder if Graeter is a Dutch name.
Facebook is not a good thing when you're drunk, but then again neither is blogging. TOO LATE NOW BITCHES.
I'm going places. Suck on that you fat whores. Have fun with your 10 fat children in your trailer park. Someday when I'm off in a better place you're going to wish that you loved yourself half as much as I love myself.
Tee hee I'm a cocky drunk.
I'm going to curl up like one of those creepy cat statues at the fair and go to sleep now. NIGHT BITCHES.

A Series Of Good Ideas!
Allo, allo!
I have felt pretty awful again today... pretty sure I have the plague. Ha, actually no. But I've been fighting really awful headaches recently. So today was a day of laying in my bed, after I helped out at my Grandma's house.
Anyway, in the last week or so, I have developed several good ideas (or at least I think so) and I am now prepared to share them with you. But no stealing! Or else I will cut bitches!
Christine's Super-Awesome List Of Good Ideas!
1. Buy two ducks. Name one duck Dr. Mallard. Name the other duck Palmer. Award one million cool points to anyone who gets this reference. Cool points may be redeemable for snuggles and chapstick only.
2. Lady Gaga Halloween costumes for babies! Can't you picture a little chubby bundle of joy dressed up dressed up with a bunch of Kermits on them? I mean, there has to be a good reason why Lady Gaga addresses her fans as LITTLE monsters, right?
3. Getting rid of this: (shield the eyes of your small children!)
4. Solve all problems by battling in a large vat of pudding. This doesn't need any more explanation.
5. Keep all men underground and use them purely for breeding. Okay, so I may have stolen that one from Topanga on Boy Meets World, but plagiarism doesn't really count if you're stealing from a fictional character, right? HOKAY!
Alrighty, this has been a peach and a half of fuzzy goodness. I'm going to go now before anyone accuses me of anything hinky.

I'm a little sorry that the picture is so small, but not really because those are TEENY penis maracas! I mean, if you're going to have penis maracas, can't they be a little bit... bigger? And not quite so stubby? Get ready, bachelorettes, for a life of unsatisfaction from a stout penis filled with beads!

"Giving birth is like taking your lower lip and forcing it over your head." - Carol Burnett
So I have just about no time to write anything of importance today because it's my baby brother's 20th birthday, and I've been running around like a banshee with a fire crotch all day. That is, a banshee whose crotch is burning, as in on fire, not like with an STD, and not like they have red hair. What if you had red hair, an STD, and your crotch was on fire? Would you have a fire-fire-fire crotch?
My friend Phil had to remind me last night that I need to behave like a lady. I'm understanding what he means now.
Anywhoodles, I still have stuff to do before Mike's dinner tonight. So I'm giving you the gift of YouTube/song once again!
This song was a free download several months ago... it's completely fitting! My favorite line is "I'm getting drunk as a skunk and throwing up in the sink!" only because I did that at my friend Hilary's 21st birthday party. Someone cut in front of me in line for the bathroom, and it was either the sink or the floor. The sink always wins!

sha-la-la
Salut!
I woke up this morning feeling like I had been hit by a bus. First, I was up past 2 AM last night, for a variety of reasons, but partially because my room felt like a pressure cooker. And since I had to drive Puggle to school this morning and then I cleaned my grandma's house, I was up at 7:30 this morning. Not good. Plus, my super fantastic workout from yesterday is now my super OWWWWWIE for today. My legs hurt, especially my knees, and my shoulders hurt where my angels wings should be... har har. And then I had to vacuum all three floors of my grandma's house, including her basement. Have you ever vacuumed concrete? I HAVE. Why? Because my aunt's dogs will care if the basement floor is clean before they go downstairs. Right.
It's amazing to me how quickly your own problems can become incredibly insignificant. It seems like whenever I'm all, "OMG EFF MY LIFEEEEEE! PPL SUUUUUUUCK!!! UGHHHHHH!!" then Life comes along and is like, "SUCK ON THIS! MWHAHAHAHA! A PLAGUE UPON YOUR HOUUUUUUUSE!"
(I would like to take this opportunity to mention that the winds have shifted today, and since the Budweiser brewery is northeast of my house, I can now smell hops verrrrrrry well, and I have been able to since approximately 3:30 PM this afternoon).
I am Chandler Bing. When things get uncomfortable, I make inappropriate jokes. Don't believe me? See above.
I would also like to mention that thanks to a certain Facebook status by a certain bestie of mine, I am now TERRIFIED to watch last night's episode of Army Wives. I don't want to cryyyyyy!
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Tomorrow is my brother's 20th birthday (Happy B-day Mikey!) so I will be having a celebratory dinner with my family and I will not be watching NCIS or Glee when they air. IF YOU TEXT ME AND SPOIL SOMETHING ABOUT EITHER SHOW BEFORE I WATCH IT, YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE TARRED AND FEATHERED WHILE CATHOLIC SCHOOLCHILDREN WILL BE FORCED TO WATCH (why? because I once was one of those clad in plaid pipsqueaks).
Yeah, I don't really know where this entry is going. Sorr about the bag. (+1,000,000 Cool Points to you if you know what that's from. And no, it's not a movie.)

is there anybody going to listen to my story?
*in Ross Gellar voice* ... Hi.
It's been one of those days where I'm just in a funk. Even though it's Cinco de Mayo, which is loosely translated as "Pretend to give a shit about a Mexican holiday and drink margaritas!" Which is precisely why I am struggling a bit to write this. But I love all of y'all and I WILL PERSEVERE DAMMIT! I'm not about to let some Jose Cuervo mess up my plan to blog every day!!
Back to my funk. I hate work. I woke up in a weird mood because of a frightenly realistic dream and that's had me in a bad mood all day. I've been irritable and distracted and it's like PMS but not. I want my job to just be over. I'm working as fast as I can to try to get through this project and NO. WE HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION TO GRADE AFTER THIS ONE. I'm tired of freezing for nothing. Maybe once I get a paycheck I'll feel a little better. I'm really picky about where I work. Kind of a problem.
Today has basically been like "The One Where Ross is Fine" (which is my all-time favorite episode of Friends, BEE TEE DUBS except for maybe the whole section of episodes where Monica and Chandler start doing the nasty and theyre hiding it from every one). ANYWAY... I'm fine, I had margaritas, but not fajitas. I did have a tasty quesdilla.
I'm tired and I have to go battle a zit from propping my head up with my hand al day work. Yes, Seventeen magazine, you're right. I should have listening to you more. Bitch. So far this job has made me zitty, fatty, cold, and cranky. LOSE LOSE SITUATION RIGHT THERE.
Oh right, I was going to post the NAUGHTY HAIKU.
She got all the pretty genes in the family. I'm not even kidding. Sometimes in my mind I refer to Puggle as Christine 2.0. Then again, I bet even Beyoncé would look like a dog next to her sister before her prom. It's a fact of life that when you take pictures with someone before a formal and you're not dressed formally, you look like a homeless man living under a bridge.
Right. Off to wage war with my face.

Oh, here's a pretty picture of Puggle in her dress that I may have promised a few days ago. I don't remember. I made it all color splotty or whatever the eff that technique is called...

blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol
In the past few days, I've learned something about myself: I'm not very good at being single. It's true. I don't have a lot of experience with it, and when I am single, I'm anxious, drunk, and sexually attracted to guys who are questioning their sexuality. Then I make out with them and they figure out that they're gay. Which, okay, yay for them, but it friggin sucks for me. Anywhoodles, I've spent most of the last week seriously craving alcohol. Yes, I realize this makes me sound like an alkie. I completely remember why I spent so much of my junior year of college drunk. (ha, that's ironic) It wasn't that I turned 21 (although that played a part in it), it was that I was single! I'm not even sure why I want to drink so much as a single lady. All of the dating advice articles I've read advise against being a lush because that's how you get taken advantage, and come on, who actually meets their soul mate when they're about to black out? Maybe it has to do with a freedom issue. My first serious boyfriend wouldn't let me drink if he wasn't there (and people wondered why we had problems...) and even with my most recent ex, I always felt guilty for drinking around him because he wouldn't drink much around me. It does a number to your ego when you're ALWAYS the drunk girl. Maybe I should find my next boyfriend in a bar...
Next topic at hand: ANXIETY! I have been so bored. SO. BORED. So bored that I can actually feel my brain going to mush, which may be why I've been acting like an idiot. Seriously, I am not a good conversationalist right now. It's like talking to a 3 year old on acid. I make no sense, and I often just start laughing spontaneously. I've always been a smidge wacky, but the level of wacky is getting worse. I need to get out of my house, and not just to go babysit 3 year olds. It's kinda sucky. I was pretty anti-social this fall, and now I have the urge to be super social. But a lot of my friends are in school, or have jobs that are more than just a few hours a week. But I have this need to be entertained constantly. I also really want to travel again, even though I haven't even been home for two weeks. In a fight or flight situation, I am most definitely a flight kinda girl.
And onto my last issue: being sexually attracted to guys who are questioning their own sexuality. Luckily, this has not happened this time around. Probably only because all of the guys I know have figured themselves out now. Hip hip hooray. But I need make out buddies for when I'm drunk and anxious! How else am I supposed to cope with this whole single business? I should probably channel my sexual frustrations, anxiety, and love of alcohol into something productive, like working out. But let's get real. I won't. I know me too well. I am a hot mess.

well howdy doody!
"A lady doesn't wander all over the room and blow on some other guy's dice." - Luck Be A Lady
Yes, I'm listening to the Broadway Showtunes station on Pandora. Sometimes I just need a healthy dose of cheese and pep to make me feel better, hokay? NO JUDGING.
On to more important matters. What/who is Howdy Doody? The only time I've heard of him was in a super depressing episode of Full House. You know, the one where Stephanie and Michelle have a neighborhood dog show and DJ volunteers at a nursing home where she's buddied up with a guy who has Alzheimer's (except she doesn't know it because he tells her he feels perfectly fine.) So she busts him out of the home (rebel rouser!) to take him to the dog show. Except then he has an 'episode' and thinks that DJ is his own daughter in her teenage years and he lectures her that if she doesn't do her homework (or something) she can't watch Howdy Doody. To which DJ replies, "Howdy Doody? That was on before I was born!"
(Just you wait, Henry Higgins, just you wait!- is playing now and I LOVE My Fair Lady)
Luckily, a nurse from the nursing home figures out where the old guy went and tracks him down at the Tanner home. Except this is also the episode where Becky makes Jesse wear the maternity belly so he could feel what she was going through, so the old man starts rambling about the dog show and seeing a pregnant man. And then he's promptly wisked away by the nurse.
The scariest part of all of this is that I haven't seen that episode in years. Think that's bad? My sister has more episodes memorized than I do. She used to walk around the house reciting lines from the show. Not just little bits, but full out monologues.
("Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom of the Opera just came on, and now I have goosebumps. Also, listening to the lyrics made me realize that they're REALLY sad and entirely about death. Boo.)
Have you ever wondered if mock turtlenecks actually feel self-righteous when they see real turtlenecks? (Beauty and the Beast just came on... seriously, how has it taken me so long to find this station??) I can totally picture a mock turtleneck saying to a turtleneck, "Haha, look at you, you have to be CUFFED you pansy!"
I'm drinking milk. Not rum. I promise.
Based on interviews I've seen with her, I feel like Cote de Pablo and I would be besties if we were to meet. She's quirky and giggly, like me! I think I would be intimidated by Pauley Perrette. She seems awesome, but she's so politically charged, I would be afraid to say something ignorant around her. Let's face it, I don't like politics. There are certain issues that I am enthusiastic about, and at least gay rights is one of those that we have in common, but I think she knows so much more about it than I do. Michael Weatherly seems like a really fun guy to know. I've read that the producer-types have to remind him that he has to take some things seriously. Fun in a social setting, but I don't know that I'd like to work with someone like that. Sean Murray on the other hand seems to take everything TOO seriously! I saw some behind-the-scenes pictures from an upcoming episode of NCIS where Pauley, Cote, Michael, and Sean are all sitting on the floor of Abby's lab with an evidence box and they're clearly not in character. Pauley, Cote, and Michael are all cracking up about something, and Sean's just sitting there like, "Get me out of here!" Womp womp.
Oh man, Pandora is letting me down right now. I hate that I can't skip more than 5 songs. So just for kicks, I'm switching to the disco station... "Night Fever" is the first thing that came up. Ha.
I'm sorry I dragged you people through this trainwreck of an entry. My life is just too bizarre for words sometimes. Which is why I ramble.
OH! Today my mom and I spent about 20 minutes discussing if I was the "Willis" from "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?". Most of this was spent with us giggling because my mom pointed out that after awhile, the name Willis starts to sound funny. Then she left to go take a shower, and I got a text from her that just said "WILLIS!" I live on a funny farm.
I wish that when I was in college, I looked like the girls on Greek. Seriously, what college did the producer-types visit where EVERY girl was no bigger than a size six? And even the 'ugly' girls are still very attractive. I'm not saying that UD girls are all fat cows, but we're a healthy mix. And where do they get all their money? I understand some of them are rich (Rebecca Logan... biotch!) but what about the Cartwrights? Casey spends a lot of money and she has a lot of stuff, and no job! What the heck?
I can't tell if I'm too tired to watch an episode of Greek or not. Now that I'm home and we have ABC Family, I've become hooked on it again, but I missed almost every episode from the first two seasons, so I'm playing catch up by watching them online.
The disco music is really mellowing me out... isn't that the opposite of what it's supposed to do?
~Christine

The disco music is really mellowing me out... isn't that the opposite of what it's supposed to do?

step-bitch
Sorry, I completely fail at updating sometimes.
I am 22 years old. In the US, the legal drinking age is 21. Therefore, I can have a beer with my pizza, have wine with my burger, and have a rum and coke with my bratwurst and delicious German potato salad! God will not smite me for that! Believe me, there are plenty of other things that I've done that He could criticize me for. That's right, HE could criticize me for, not you as a human being who I've met once in my life. In addition, my parents have done an excellent job raising me! Allowing me to follow US law and drink alcohol doesn't make them bad parents. I would judge you and your parenting skills, but that would be stooping to your level, and I'm better than that.
Oh, and if my 80 year old grandmother wants to dance, she's going to dance. Don't even THINK of trying to tell her that it's sinful. You should just be happy that an 80 year old woman CAN dance!
That being said, I taught my grandma how to dance the macarena at my uncle's birthday party over the weekend. It was pretty funny, especially considering I learned that dance when I was 8.
In the bad news department, Bill got rejected from the Columbus HFH affiliate, and he found in an extremely shady way that Denver isn't rehiring him for next year. So if you're a praying type person, please pray that he finds a job! And if you're not a praying type person, cross your fingers and find a rabbit's foot!
This is my sister's new baby bunny, Rosie!

How freaking adorable is that?!?! I want to squish her! (the bunny, not my sister)
Time to go drink!

I'm too old for partying
Tonight was supposed to be an awesome night... it was a Disney party AND it was my last real college party. Instead it was one of the worst endings to a college career that I can think of. Don't get me wrong, parts of it were awesome, like the bongo/flute/tambourine jam session. But most of it really sucked. I'm just sick of this freshman class (with a couple of exceptions). I had some guy dump Jen's mohito all over me and my phone, and then not even offer to help clean it up. He just stood there and was like "Party foul!" So I looked at him and I was like, "No kidding, are you going to get me a towel to help clean this up?" There was mohito all over the place. Then we had the twerpy girls who would go running through the house screaming for no reason. That's annoying and dangerous. What if there was actually something wrong? How would we know? I'm just sick of it all. I feel like I don't fit in again, and I'm tired of having a shitty time every time I go to PMA. It's just not all it's cracked up to be because people are loud and stupid and I deserve better people than that. I had the most fun last weekend when I went with the alumni to Kevin's house and played Boom for an hour, and unfortunately tonight the most fun I had was driving around getting things for Jen's costume and "ice cream". Oh, and another thing. This whole judging me for my relationship thing is getting REALLY old. I feel like I'm losing friends left and right for something that doesn't even affect them. If I like my relationship and I'm happy when I'm with Bill, then that's all that matters. I keep my mouth shut about all of your stupid errors in judgement. And my situation isn't even a mistake because unlike all of you, I don't feel like I have to be a different person with Bill. If you're not mature enough to realize that you shouldn't change who you are to attract someone's attention, then you probably should keep your legs and your mouth shut. Just saying.
In other news, I came home from PMA very sober and very sad, so I sat in the shower and cried for a half hour. Not exactly sure why.
Happy 11 months!

I'm going back to the start
I'd like to preface this entry with a memo to myself. Self: You are writing this entry while extremely emotional and drinking a Stella Artois, which is fabulous, but not helping the emotional bit.
I've never wanted to tear someone from limb to limb before. This is most definately a new experience for me. I actually want to rip her limbs out of their sockets, one by one. And then, because I'm humane like that, I'm going to try to put them back in again. We'll see how that process goes.
I'm sick and tired of Laura. She did so much mental damage to Bill, I think he may be permanently broken. It just doesn't make sense. Jeremy told me at the end of 3 months of dating that he loved me and by 6 months we were talking marriage. This was while we were juniors in high school. It scared the crap out of me, and immediately all of my friends were telling me that we would get married and make babies and can I be in your wedding? But it never once made me hate marriage. I don't think there's anything wrong with a senior in college and her 23 1/2 year old boyfriend to throw the idea around. So why is he so afraid of marriage? Yes, we both had freakishly "committed" previous relationships, but I'm past my qualms. He can't even tell me he loves me. This is a big deal. The more time passes, the bigger of a deal it's becoming. HOW HARD IS IT TO SAY WHAT YOU FUCKING FEEL? Laura Meyer cannot be the excuse of this bullshit anymore. She doesn't want to come to UD because she thinks that she would "want to punch someone/thing". Well guess what, you shouldn't come to UD because you should be fucking terrified of what I would do to you. Thanks for leaving a steaming pile of shit for me to clean up, you bitch.

it's a bad mood morning
Today's barely started and it's already going to be a bad day, I can tell.
Last night sucked. I can't eat Chipotle and then drink a lot because I just run out of room. Sorry, I only have so much space. And I was tired and I didn't really want to go out, but no, I don't get to make my own life choices apparently. If we start drinking at 6:30 and it's 10:30, that's already four hours of drinking. So if I start drinking at 10:30 or 11 like normal, four hours of drinking later would be 2:30 or 3. That's bedtime to me! So I already didn't want to go and I was cranky because all day long other people got to be cranky and I get cranky when other people get cranky. And then there's the other reason... he's leaving Monday. I've now asked him out SIX times and every single time he's been busy. I think it's time to move on and forget about him. But it's not that simple. My close friends know that I have a hard time moving on... just ask Bill or Phil. Especially Phil. He had to treat me like absolute shit and even then it was another couple of weeks before I moved on past him. So what am I supposed to do now? It's not like there are other guys around that I could have an interest in instead. I've pretty much given up on the music department and those are the only guys I know.
So last night sucked and now today's going to suck. I hate it when I wake up in a bad mood. I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to who won't yell at me or just listen and comment with "mmmhmm" and "that sucks". I want advice. I want guidance. I want my mom, but she knows nothing about the situation and that's how things are going to stay. I told myself that I would tell my parents about him when we went on an actual date. But we haven't. So they're not going to know. He just needs to be straightforward and blunt with me. Sometimes I think I'm like a guy because I don't take hints well. Just tell me the truth. That's all I ask.
I kinda feel like hiding for awhile.
