You're hot then you're cold

I find it funny that in Dayton, OH it's 54 and sunny and in Denver, CO it's 17 and they have a blizzard advisory.

I also find it funny that my SAI province day t-shirt from 2007 hasn't shrunk in over 2 years and my UD class of 2009 shirt that I've had for 2 months has shrunk so much that it's now skintight on me. Same size shirt as my province day shirt too. Further proof that UD is cheap!

Still no idea on what I'm doing/where I'm going next year. If I had to guess, I'd say that I'll end up in Denver. At this point, the only thing stopping me from moving there would be if I couldn't get a job. But Bill really likes his soccer coaching stuff out there and he's actually making friends, so who I am to say "please move away from your friends"? I mean, I guess he's kind of saying that to me, but I have an easier time making friends than he does.

I have been cursed. My stereo in my car that I've had for a month and half is dead. Kaput. So thanks to my federal tax return, I bought a new stereo online and hopefully it'll be here soon! I even got a special deal through Crutchfield where I paid $60 and my stereo comes with an installation card and all I have to do is bring the card to a car fix-it place where they install stereos and they'll install my stereo for free! Not bad considering when I called Best Buy for a price estimate, they said it would be at least $110, plus any additional parts they may need. And worst of all, they weren't very nice on the phone! Not like the nice guy at Firestone who I believe was flirting with me. Now that's the way to sell radios! Except I didn't get my radio from them because it was going to be $300 for a used radio vs. $200 for a new radio and all the bracket things and $60 installation! Nice try, Firestone guy!

achoo

Welcome to allergy season! Guess who forgot to take her allergy meds this morning? Just call me sneezy.

I'm attempting to eat a little bit healthier. I don't want to be constantly battling myself my whole life, and I figure that now while I'm younger, I have a better chance of getting myself back in shape. I presently have a 24 pack of Diet Coke in my room, and when it's gone, I'm not buying more. I don't need anything else to puff me up! Hopefully I'll be able to start working out soon... my knee hasn't been as bad today, but there are plenty other body parts that can try to rebel on me.

I'm at a bit of a crossroads in my life right now. I'm really afraid to move away from my family, but I don't want to be far away from Bill either. I just don't see the point in me finding a job in Denver, moving me and all my crap out there, and then in another year having to pack it all up and move back to Dayton when Bill goes back to school. Then I'd have to find another job and another place to live! It just doesn't make any sense. Ideally, what I want to have happen is for Bill to move to Dayton now and work and then go to school 2nd semester, and then I wouldn't have to move all over the place. But he doesn't think he'll get a job in Dayton, and the Americorps thing is a guarantee. But where's my guarantee?? Let's say I move to Denver, get a job and a place to live and then Bill breaks up with me. Then what do I do? I'd be in a strange city with no friends and no family and no boyfriend. He hasn't even told me he loves me yet. I just don't feel comfortable throwing away my life for someone who doesn't love me.

But here's the catch: I love him so much it hurts to not be with him. :-(

p-u

Hi again!

So Happy St. Patrick's day to you all! Be a good Catholic and celebrate the feast day with green beer! Haha. I walked outside to go to class this morning and campus smelled like ass. Seriously, like someone pooped all over campus. It was pretty gross. I think I'm going to blame the army of porta-potties outside of Flannagan's.

As some of you may know, I hit a patch of ice and crashed my car into a tree on January 17th. (Happy 2 month anniversary to me!) I escaped with only bumps and bruises, but my car was not so lucky. It wasn't a really old car, but it was a 2002, and the damages were way more than the value of the car, so it had to be totaled, which pretty much broke my heart. You can ask Jen, I seriously sat in my room and sobbed for hours when I found out I had to give it up. Luckily, Jen's family was going to trade in their 2001 Sebring, and when they found out what had happened to me, they offered to sell it to me for the trade in value! So car-wise, I got very lucky because even after taxes I still had about $1000 left over. (I've had to spend some of that since). However, my body has not been so lucky. I hit my head pretty hard, so for awhile I was on edge about that. My dad's sister Bridget died from a brain aneurism that was triggered as a result of a car accident that she was in on almost the exact same day that my accident was. Needless to say, it was kind of intense in my family once they found out about my head. I also rammed my knee into my ignition at about 30-35 mph. I injured my knee my senior year of high school as well, so this hasn't made things any better. I'm still having problems with my knee. This morning in the shower, I couldn't stand on it to shave. I also am still having back problems. Everything gets so tense, and my back just HAS to crack sometimes and it hurts so bad, but in a good way. So that's the update on my car, and me.

I've joined flickr! Mostly so I can have a pretty slideshow of pictures on my blog. So go look at them! Yay!

my life in 2 bites

So in between my last post and this one, a lot has happened, and at the same time, nothing. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do "when I grow up" which is approaching very quickly. Luckily, not as quickly as it has for some people. I don't officially graduate until August, and now that I have an on-campus job (working the front desk in Marianist, yay!) I don't have a huge rush to find my grown-up job. I'm just ignoring every single headline I see on CNN that talks about how the job market sucks. Well, duh. It sucks a lot. But there are still people who are hiring, and I'm hopeful that someone will want to hire me.

Bill and I are good, aside from still trying to figure out who the other person is. The way we handle our fights is starting to become a problem because of the distance. He needs a LOT more sulking time that I do, or feel comfortable with. Since we're not in the same physical spot, when he's sulking, I translate it to mean that he's ignoring me because his feelings have changed. They haven't, and I'm going to have to try to be more understanding about that. Though if we lived in the same area code, this would be a hell of a lot easier. But we're good. I think it's interesting to see how we've both grown up since we started dating, especially him. This whole changing at the same time thing is turning out well for us!

In other news, I am extremely irritated on an almost daily basis at someone. Generally it's a moron who I live with (not Jen, she's awesome as usual). It's someone else that I can't stand. There's starting to be a much more noticeable maturity gap between she and I. It's probably because The Rest Of My Life is approaching soon, and she'll still be coming back to UD next year. I'm pretty much at the point where I just don't care about UD that much.

Speaking of stupid, I now have to do homework for the freshman-level science class I'm in. Yay rocks for jocks!
