Bill's gone. He's been back in Chicago since Sunday night. It's been really hard just being on campus without him here. There are so many places around here that have so many memories. I walked past Founders yesterday morning to take a picture of where he wrote his initials in the wet cement and I got really sad because I know that it's never going to be the same as it was this summer. We were both so spoiled, and I don't think either of us realized at the time how good we had it. No worries about roommates or being on opposite sides of the country. It was just so easy to be with each other all the time. The worst was when I helped Courtney and Jacki move Bill's old loveseat to their Gardens apartment, which of course is one building over from where Bill lived. I watched The Hills with them, and then I left because I knew I was going to break down crying. It's just not the same. I still love him, but it's so much harder now. The hardest things we went through this summer, we got through because we were physically around each other and when one of us didn't want to listen to the other, we could get around our issues by being flirtatious. Or if you're me, by driving to Oakwood in a huge thunderstorm to rescue Bill from his thinking walk. We're going to have to find different ways to keep the flame alive now. I thought it would be fun to watch movies together via webcam, but Bill didn't seem thrilled with the idea because he can't focus on a movie for that long when I'm sitting next to him, let alone when I'm 1,196 miles away. I just have to make it through the next 127 days. I think I'm going to rely on Brenda to keep me sane. At least Bill isn't in mortal danger like Mitch is.
I think I'm going to ask Courtney for Bill's loveseat at the end of the year. I'll need it for my future apartment. Besides, there are a lot of memories on that loveseat. It's where Bill and I had our first kiss. I don't think I'll share that bit with her...
